You wanna know about me? Okay then…

My name is Chynna-Blue. I write YA Urban Fantasy and Paranormal Romance novels.

I’m fairly socially awkward, but God gifted me with writing skills that make it easy for me to communicate over the internet. And through books. Which is cool, and makes up for the whole my-sarcasm-offends-people thing.

I like books. A lot of books. Don’t we all? I’m also pretty good at nitpicking and criticising, which makes me HELL on my own writing but good for anyone looking for a critique. Because I’ll be nicer to you than I will to myself.

I wanted to be a journalist, but that’s just because I have a great love of a.) the sound of my own (written) voice; b.) my own opinions and c.) writing. Naturally.

I wrote the book that I wanted to read, so I’m sort of hoping there are other people out there who’d want to read it too. If I had to compare STRICKEN to anything, I’d say a cross between The Mortal Instruments and Twilight. With less sap and more action.

And a heroine that you can actually identify with (and not just because she’s a blank slate, ready for you to write yourself onto).

Want to know anything else? Hit me up in the comments.

    1. I thought about all of the heroines that I love, and why I love them – and then I threw a little bit of me in there (which we probably all do :P). I wanted her to be someone you could like and identify with – someone who makes mistakes and says stupid things, but is also sassy and sarcastic. Lengthy answer but that was my thinking process! πŸ™‚

Heroines I love include Buffy (naturally), Cat Crawfield and Pheobe Halliwell… Polgara from The Belgariad, Isabelle Lightwood – I could go on!

  1. Hi Chynna-Blue,

I happened to come across your blog by random blog surfing, and I’m sure glad I did! You’ve got quite a gift and I’m happy to be a new follower.

    Much continued success!
